Political cartoons are a great way to convey opinions and ideas. Most of the time they are humorous, but not always.
To the right you see an artist's depiction of the reunification of Hong Kong with China. The top portion of the cartoon shows German reunification as breaking down walls
(Berlin Wall). German reunification brought new freedoms to many Germans in East Germany.
The bottom of the cartoon shows Hong Kong being surrounded by a wall (symbolized by the Great Wall) after reunification. The artist is telling us that Hong Kong will lose the
freedoms it had before reunification. This is a negative depiction of Hong Kong's reunification with China.
